Annette & Stefan Loerner-Peyer
Stefan Loerner is originally from Germany; Annette Peyer Loerner ist Swiss German.
We came to Dominica in December 1997, built our own hotel and opened the restaurant in January 2001 and the hotel in October 2001. Our son Nathan was born here in 1999.
We decided to live here for the sheer love of this country, its world class diving, the unspoiled nature and the kind people.
We are both divers, Stefan a ***VDTL, Annette a PADI instructor. Annette is also a trained tour guide and an official tour guide in Dominica.
Stefan speaks German, English and a little Spanish, Annette Swiss German, German, English, French, Italian and a little Spanish.
We closely work together with the dive center East Carib Dive, located on Salisbury Beach, only 7 minutes walking distance from our hotel. The owners Beatrice and Harald are French-Spanish and German respectively. Both are dive instructors with many years of experience.
We also offer hiking programmes and various tours and excursions.
Environment- Rainwater is used to flush the toilets and irrigate the garden. The water is heated with solar energy. Low energy consumption light bulbs are used everywhere.
The Tamarind Tree Hotel & Restaurant, a small, intimate hotel perched on a cliff overlooking the beautiful Caribbean sea has identified the environment as an integral part of our product offer.
